Claude connector
What the Floats connector reads and keeps
The Floats connector lets Claude work with your Floats account on your behalf. Here's exactly how it signs in, what it reads, where your data goes and what we keep.
Back to the Claude connector
How it signs in
- You sign in on Floats' own page. Claude never sees your password.
- You approve access first. Before connecting, you see what Claude will be able to do and choose Allow access.
- The key is limited and short-lived.
- Claude gets an access key that only works for the connector.
- The key expires every hour and renews automatically while you're using it.
- If you don't use the connector for 30 days, you'll need to connect again.
- Sign-in uses the standard method. It follows the open standard for connecting apps (OAuth 2.1), and only Claude can register to use it.
What it reads
- Only what's needed. It reads what each request needs. If you ask about a float, it looks up that float.
- Only what you can see. It works within your own Floats permissions and team, and it can't reach anything you couldn't see in the Floats app yourself.
- Admin accounts are excluded. Floats admin accounts, which have wider access, can't connect at all.
Where your data goes
- Floats receives your request. Your question goes from Claude to Floats' assistant, SOLA.
- SOLA processes it.
- SOLA uses an AI provider (OpenAI) to understand the request and work out the answer.
- If you ask it to research something on the web, the search goes through Perplexity.
- If you ask it to enrich a contact's details, the lookup goes through Prospeo.
- The answer goes back to Claude. Once it reaches Claude, it's handled under your Claude account's terms with Anthropic.
When you connect, you confirm that you're responsible for any data you request from your Floats account through Claude. Floats isn't responsible for that data's security once it leaves the Floats app. Ask for what you need, and think before asking for large exports of candidate or client details.
What Floats keeps
- No chat history. Connector requests aren't saved to your SOLA chat history in Floats.
- Operational logs. Floats keeps operational logs of connector requests so we can fix problems and improve answers. These are kept for 30 days.
- Your changes. Anything you ask the connector to change, such as a new candidate or an updated float, is saved in your Floats account just like a change you make in the app.
- Connection details. Floats records when the connector was last used on your account.
AI model training
Floats doesn't use your data to train AI models, and our AI providers don't train on data we send them.
